Because certain items pose high risk they must be purchased by Campus Buyers through Supply Chain Management. To ensure compliance with statutory and policy requirements, the following items are restricted from departmental purchase via BearBuy PO or bluCard, regardless of the dollar amount involved:
- Controlled Substances, including narcotic and non-narcotic drugs
- Explosives
- Firearms & Ammunition
Use a BearBuy Non-Catalog Form to purchase restricted items. When completing the Form, indicate the type of restricted item contained in your order by selecting the appropriate category under Health and Safety. Be sure to include a detailed Item Description and attach all required documentation to the Form. Completing and submitting a Non-Catalog Form will, upon approval, automatically generate a requisition and a purchase order in BearBuy.
