In-Stock Computer Purchases through IT Client Services

IT Client Services Procurement & Provisioning aims to ensure that all staff have the proper computer equipment and software installed in order to be able to work from home. 

Our computers will have the UC Berkeley standard image (Berkeley Desktop) and software (Global Protect VPN, Microsoft office, and Adobe Acrobat) installed. These in-stock computers can be delivered to your local technician generally within one week . Please be aware that we may also be impacted by COVID-19 related activities which could impact our turnaround time. We have the following standard models in stock:

• Dell Latitude 7400 (Standard & Power user)
• Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch
• Apple MacBook Air 13-inch

Please be advised that if you plan to order directly through UC Berkeley recommended vendors (Apple & Dell) instead, the purchased equipment would not have the UC Berkeley standard image (Berkeley Desktop) and software (Global Protect VPN, Microsoft office, and Adobe Acrobat) installed. Therefore, you would have to open a ServiceNow ticket to request your local technician to pick up the purchased computer equipment, image it, and then return it to you.
Here are the current shipping lead-times to have your order delivered to UC Berkeley (not including the amount of time for the steps mentioned above):

Apple:
Macbook Pro: 13-inch 3-5 business days
Macbook Air 13-inch: 1-2 weeks

Dell:
Dell Latitude 7400 (Standard & Power User): 10-13 business days
Dell Latitude 5300 (Non-touch): 10—13 business days
